Getting started
From sign-up to your whole family on board
Here's exactly what happens after you choose My Active Family, and how to get everyone set up in a few minutes.
Step 1
Choose your plan
Go to the pricing page and pick the 14-day free trial (no credit card needed to start) or the one-time Lifetime plan. Checkout is handled securely by Stripe.
Step 2
Create your account
After checkout you come right back to My Active Family. Sign up with your email (or sign in if you already have an account). This is the login you'll use every time.
Step 3
Set up your household
Give your household a name. You'll get an invite code right away, and we email it to you too, so you never lose it.
Step 4
Check your welcome email
We send a welcome email with your plan details, a link to open the app, and these same steps. If you don't see it, check your spam or promotions folder.
Step 5
Add it to your home screen
My Active Family works right in your phone's web browser, with no app store download needed. Add it to your home screen and it opens just like a regular app (see how below).
Step 6
Invite your family
Share your invite code. Each family member creates their own sign-in, chooses “Join an existing household,” and enters the code. You'll find the code anytime on your Household page.
Step 7
Add your first tasks
Add chores, appointments and reminders, and assign each one to whoever is handling it. Everyone sees the same list in real time, so nothing falls through the cracks.
How to add My Active Family to your home screen
Do this once on each phone, and the app opens with one tap, full screen, just like any other app.
iPhone or iPad
- Open My Active Family in Safari.
- Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up).
- Scroll down and tap “Add to Home Screen.”
- Tap “Add.” The icon now appears with your other apps.
Android
- Open My Active Family in Chrome.
- Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
- Tap “Add to Home screen” or “Install app.”
- Tap “Add” or “Install.” The icon now appears with your other apps.
Common questions
Is there an app to download from the App Store or Google Play?
No download is needed. My Active Family runs in your web browser on any phone, tablet or computer. Adding it to your home screen gives you a one-tap app icon.
I didn't get my welcome email or invite code.
Check your spam or promotions folder first. Your invite code is also always on your Household page, and you can use “Forgot your invite code?” on the sign-in screen.
Do my family members need to pay?
No. Your one household plan covers everyone in it (the price depends on how many people you add). Family members just create their own sign-in and join with your invite code.
